A: Neutering a male kitten is generally performed between 4 and 6 months of age. The surgical procedure usually requires general anesthesia and lasts about two to three hours.
Q: What should I do after neutering my cat?
A: Cats who have been neutered will need less frequent trips to the veterinarian for routine wellness care such as vaccinations, deworming, flea prevention products and heart worm preventative products. If your cat has any health issues that may be affected by changes in hormones (prostate problems or skin disease), we recommend you keep taking him back into our office for regular checkups.
