The average length of time it takes to wean a kitten depends upon the age at which the mother cat is spayed. For example, if she has just given birth and you do not want her to nurse any more kittens, take your kitten home as soon as possible. If she has had several litters in succession with no spaying, expect that each litter will be smaller than the previous one because she cannot produce large numbers of kittens without pregnancy hormones running wild. This should only delay how long to wean for about four months or so after all kittens are taken care of by their new families.
How much does it cost?
It costs around $40-50 dollars per month at our clinic including vaccines and shots, but this may vary depending on where you purchase them from. We do have partners who offer discounts through PetSaver coupons or special Health Insurance plans available for cats needing medical attention while they are still very young.
