How Long Until A Kitten Opens Its Eyes?

It is a bit tricky to know when it will take a kitten longer than usual to open its eyes. It depends on the age of the cat and how much light there is in their environment. Usually, it takes about two weeks for kittens to become alert enough to start opening their eyes under normal circumstances. In cases where they have been exposed to bright lights or other external stimulation, this may be much longer. However, even if cats remain blind for several weeks after birth, they can learn what colors are by being examined with different colored objects later on in life. If you think your cat’s behavior indicates blindness due to an eye problem please call us right away so we can get them checked out!

What does “checking his ears” mean?

If a kitten doesn’t seem interested in hearing things around him then he probably has ear mites that need treatment immediately! You should also examine your home and yard for these tiny parasites as well as any signs of illness such as diarrhea or worms (which could indicate ringworm). We recommend treating both areas simultaneously since some treatments kill mites but leave worms unaffected which could lead to more serious problems down the road like Leukemia or Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

How often should I feed my new kitten? When should she start eating solid food? How long before her first vaccinations? What do I need and why do I really need it all done at once?? All good questions! First off –
