How Much Should I Feed A 6 Month Old Kitten?

My kitten is 6 months old and I have noticed since he was about 3 weeks of age, that he will only eat his dry food in the morning. He does not like to be put on a dish or bowl with water in it, but if you just give him moist food (mixed with some canned cat food) then lay on top of the wet food potty’s him right away. It has been this way ever since he started eating solid foods at around 4-5 weeks old. Should I be concerned by this? What should I do to get my kitten to eat more? Is there any kind of vitamin or supplement you could suggest for me so that my kitty doesn’t lose weight while still being healthy?

Answer: This is perfectly normal behavior for kittens under 6 months! When they are hungry, they don’t want their feedings interrupted by anything else; especially not human interaction! Don’t worry about him losing weight–he’ll fill out when you get through feeding him until then keeping his calories high will help prevent illness! Make sure your little guy eats something every 2-3 hours during waking hours (it may take up to 2 days), and make sure the new brand formulated without wheat also contains vitamin A & D along with essential fatty acids (omega -3 & -6). You might ask your vet what supplements would be helpful. Good luck 🙂 rsc1cat Answer: This is perfectly normal behavior for kittens under 6 months! When
