A kitten’s nutritional needs are a little different from an adult cat’s. Kittens need to eat more often, and they have a tendency to be fussy about what they eat – just as an infant human would be! It is best not to overfeed kittens, though – this can lead to digestive problems or even intestinal blockages. How much you should feed your kitten will depend on the age of the individual kitten (younger cats may need more food), but generally you should feed one cup per day for every 1/2 pound it weighs at six weeks old. If your cat stays active while eating this amount, then there should be no reason why it won’t continue consuming this daily ration throughout its life.
