My kitten is about 7 or 8 weeks old. He’s used to jumping up on the couch and has been doing it since he was a few days old, but I’m trying to teach him that this is not appropriate behavior in my house. So far I’ve caught him climbing onto our dining room table and then squealing out of fear when we scold at him and tell him “no”. Now he’s starting to get bolder and is even walking around on it (he usually sleeps there). What can I do? How do you keep your cat off the furniture without hurting its feelings?
I have an 1 year old male Catahoula Leopard Dog mix who just loves being with people–especially children! We have two girls age 6 & 4, so they are his favorite playmates. They also love ‘Sammy’ as well–well most dogs seem to enjoy Sammy…but cats don’t like Sammy one bit!! When poor Sammy gets near them they run for dear life! Shouldn’t cats be able to see that people ARE their friends?? Any suggestions?????
