Is your cat biting you? Are you scratching her to the point of bleeding? Is she always fighting with other cats in the household? Do they bite each other when they are not being petted or played with? These are all signs that your kitty might be suffering from a condition known as aggression.
This is an incredibly common problem seen especially in rescue animals who have been abused, abandoned, and/or neglected by their previous owners. Unfortunately, it can also occur if your furry friend was mistreated by his own family members before he came to live with you.
Aggression is defined as hostile behavior directed toward humans or animals caused by fear and anxiety (1). The good news is that there’s a very simple solution: love and affection! If this sounds like too much work for you – well… we’ve got some suggestions for what to do instead!
