Cat mothers are usually fiercely protectors of their kittens, so it can be very stressful for a kitten if they are orphaned. There are several things you can do to help your kitten adjust without your cat’s mother around. Sometimes the best thing is just to leave them alone and let them discover that they have come into this world on their own. This gives the kitten independence and makes them feel more secure. Being with other kittens or being in a safe location will also help reduce stress too! If you don’t have many options for leaving them alone, then try doing some daily activities with your baby kitty while mommy is away at work or school…this helps make the transition easier as well as reinforces caretaking for mommy when she gets home all day long!
