How To Tell If A Kitten Is In Pain?

In general, kittens are very good at hiding their pain. This is why it is so important to look for changes in behavior and attitude. Signs of pain include:

Redness around the nose or red fingertips – this can be a sign that they have been picking at sores on themselves which may have become infected

Turning away from human touch – if your kitten turns away when you try to hold them, rub their fur gently with a towel, stroke them behind the ears or just pet them you should take note as this could mean that they feel uncomfortable being touched

Limp movements – limping is usually caused by swelling due to injury but sometimes it can also be a sign of illness such as arthritis In some severe cases, limpness will progress rapidly over time as the kitten’s condition becomes more serious and painful; however we would still recommend contacting us immediately.
