Female cats in heat live for six to eight days and can become pregnant in as little as two or three. If a female cat becomes pregnant, she may show her pregnancy by using a litter box and behaving normally until the kittens are born. Cats usually give birth early in the morning or late at night, anytime that is most convenient for them. The mother cat will deliver the kittens into their own special nest made of hay, dirt, leaves and even other cats fur because this helps keep out predators such as coyotes and foxes.
