I have a 15 week old kitten who was diagnosed with Diarrhea this past Monday. He had been eating the same food since he was 3 weeks, so I changed his to Purina Kitten Chow dry kitten formula. This morning he vomited once and now has watery stools again after only 2 1/2 hours of eating today. Should I really change him back to his old food or is it just the stomach bug that everyone seems to be talking about?
Dealing With Illness in Kitties It’s sad but true: many kittens do get sick for no apparent reason at all! The best thing you can do is make sure your cat gets plenty of fluids, rest and warmth by keeping her indoors away from drafts where she might catch colds easily (keeping her warm) and providing high quality canned cat food along with fresh drinking water which should help prevent dehydration as well as giving them extra energy to fight off any bugs they may encounter during their stay home sick. If your kitten is experiencing vomiting or diarrhea then changing its diet will usually cure it right up. However if your cats seems lethargic, has difficulty breathing or exhibits other signs indicating possible illness then please see one of our veterinarians immediately!
