When To Start Trimming Kitten Claws?

When kittens are old enough that they can easily get into tiny spaces, like between the couch cushions or behind the toilet seat. They usually start to show interest in scratching on doors and windows by this age. If your kitten is still young (like 6 weeks) you may want to wait until later in life before trimming their claws. Trimming cat’s nails at an early age will make them more likely to be scratched, which makes it harder for them to learn how not to scratch during playtime with other cats or when being groomed.
